Wagner has been a leading manufacturer of dimensional changeable sign letters since the 1930's. Founder Erwin Wagner's innovations include the slotted letter concept in 1935, and the invention of injection molded plas­tic letters in 1942.

cartWagner slotted marquee letters are manufactured from outdoor grade, high impact plastic, with deep returns, wide strokes, and matte finish. They are available in black and transparent red, and in character heights of 4", 6", 8", 10", and 17", individually and in letter sets.

Gemini Slotted Marquee Letters/Accessories

cartGemini Slotted A letters are vacuum-formed with a distinctive 3-di­men­sio­nal face which includes a raised outline around the letter per­i­meter and a raised center line. They are available in trans­parent red, blue or green, and eight translucent colors developed by Gemini specifically for the manufacture of LED-lit letters and letters for use on illuminated marquees. Marquee Sign Promotions 101

If you need ideas for your marquee sign advertising, here's a simple outline of how you might organize a plan that will generate endless ideas. It can be adapted for fast foods, general retail, churches, schools, casinos, etc.

Building/Organizing Your
Marquee Sign Promotions Plan

1. Make it a formal plan; use a loose leaf binder or spread­sheet to organize your marquee sign marketing plan.

2. Build your plan on an index of annual holidays and other special days that might be opportunities for you to promote your services or products:
  • All the national and state holidays,
  • Other special days (Super Bowl Sunday, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Cinco de Mayo, Mother's Day, Halloween, Black Friday, etc.)
  • Community events (Back to school, Fall festival, Homecoming, etc.)
  • Dates which take advantage of promotions offered by your vendors
  • Slow days or time periods for which you need more sales volume
3. For each date in your plan, decide which products or services you will pro­mote, and the pro­mo­tional mes­sage you'll put on the marquee sign.

Operating/Improving Your Marquee Sign Promotions Plan

1. In advance of each upcoming promotion, make sure you will have the staffing/inventory for the pro­mo­tion, and make sure you have the letters you need for the marquee sign.

2. On the night before the promotion begins, put up your marquee letters, and double-check your spelling.

3. At the end of each pro­mo­tion, record sales results and note sug­ges­tions for improving your results next year. As you improve on it each year, your plan will become an increasingly valuable asset!


Getting Started

You don't have to have the whole year planned to get started, but work far enough ahead that your pro­mo­tions are well planned. Some pro­mo­tions might merit supplemental ad­ver­tising in other media, so you'll want to plan those details, too.

You'll always want to make sure that the sign lights properly if it is sup­posed to, that the letter track is intact, and that you have an adequate supply of nice-looking marquee letters.

Changing marquee messages will go faster if you have partitioned letter storage and your letter changer, if you have one that uses a suction cup, has a new suction cup on it. (Hard­ened old suction cups break a lot of letters and waste a lot of time.)
